What We Collect

There are two main areas of waste that we can collect and render into helpful ingredients.

Used Cooking Oil

One of the wastes we collect is used cooking oil (UCO).

Restaurant managers have a long to think about. UCO is just one thing they have to manage, but it’s an area that requires a lot of attention.

We serve many industries including restaurants, ghost kitchens, casinos, industrial operations, stadiums, hospitality, and non-commercial kitchens.

For our customers, we strive to make the collection process as seamless as possible. Making sure to not disrupt your daily operations.

We don’t just collect your UCO, we’re an active member during the entire process. We’ll make sure your UCO storage system fits your needs and set up auto-scheduled pickup that fits your schedule.

Animal By-Products

Grocery stores have a lot of products coming in and out of their stores. When expiration dates come around they may need to throw a lot out. Luckily, aside from UCO, we also collect and use animal by-products.

Fat trimmings, bones, inedible scraps, and expired meats can all be used to make sustainable ingredients. These forms of waste are typically created by supermarkets, the main industry we serve in animal by-product collection.

We work with our customers to create a full-service management plan. We deliver storage containers and send professional and trained technicians to retrieve the materials at a scheduled time that works for you.

Where it Goes

The collection of waste is just the beginning of the rendering process. Once collected, the waste will be delivered to one of our over 170 facilities

It is at one of these plants that the collected waste will be transformed into several products. Rendered UCO and animal by-products have many applications and can positively impact a number of industries.

What is UCO Used For?

At our plants, UCO is turned into ingredients that will eventually be used for renewable diesel. This next generation of fuel can be used in certain vehicles and is leading the charge in low-carbon fuel.

What is Meat By-Product Used for?

Not every part of an animal is used for human consumption. Some parts like hooves and bones don’t make for an enjoyable dining experience.

Meat by-products are used to create ingredients used in several products including cosmetics and animal-safe food ingredients. Bones are cooked down to simple fatty acids and oils and can be used in:

  • Soap
  • Gelatin and other binding agents
  • Cleansers
  • Plastics
  • Biofuel

The inedible parts of animal by-products are primarily used in the production of animal feed, pet food, and fertilizer.

From Waste To Nutrition For Your Animals...

The majority of the animal not used for biofuel or editable food ingredients are rendered into ingredients like protein meal, bone meal, blood meal, minerals, oils, and fatty acids.

These meals are then used for animal feed, pet food, and our own Nature Safe Fertilizers

Feed made from these ingredients not only helps keep waste from the landfill but also has high nutritional value. Meaning, they’re great for keeping your animals happy and healthy.

And Nutrition For Your Soil

Animal nutrition shares a lot of commonalities with soil nutrition. In fact, they’re so similar that the same ingredients that are used in our Nature Safe organic fertilizers are used in pet food as well.

Soil is full of microbes that need nutrients. Once given these nutrients from fertilizers they convert it into a bioavailable form for crops and turfs.

These nutrients are often referred to as essential elements and are found in recycled animal by-products.
